As my family, friends, and coworkers know, I am very obsessed with my dog. James got Audrey in Los Angeles when she was 9 weeks old and they have been together ever since. Besides James’ family, Audrey has been his constant companion. When I met James, Audrey was 2 years old. Just like him, I fell in love instantly. I have always wanted a cuddly dog and I finally got one! Audrey is a 70 pound pit-bull mix, but she gets on my lap just like a 20 pound dog would, she has no concept of her size and that’s what I like most about her.
We always celebrate her birthday with presents, but this year I wanted to bake something for her. I made a pupcake for her. Everything is dog friendly and was such a special treat for our furchild!
Treat your dog the way you want to be treated on your birthday and make them a cake.
– 1 ¼ cup water
– ¼ cup pumpkin puree
– 1 egg
– ¼ cup peanut butter (I use chunky)
– 1 ¾ cup whole wheat flour
– ¼ cup oats
– ½ tablespoon baking powder
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease 5 (6 ounce) ramekins (or a cupcake tin).
Whisk together the water, pumpkin puree, egg, and peanut butter.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the whole wheat flour, oats, and baking powder.
Add the dry ingredients to the wet and stir.
Divide into the ramekins or cupcake tin.
Bake for 30 minutes or until firm to the touch.
Let cool completely!
– 1 (8 ounce) block of light cream cheese (softened)
– 1 cup peanut butter (creamy)
With a hand mixer combine the light cream cheese and peanut butter.
Smear on the pupcakes!
