Line two cookies sheets with parchment paper
– 1 ½ stick of butter (softened)
– 1 cup of sugar
– 1 egg
– ¼ cup of molasses

– 2 ¼ cups of flour
– 1 teaspoon of baking soda
– 3 teaspoons of ground ginger
– 1 teaspoon of ground clove
– ¾ teaspoon of ground cinnamon
– Pinch of salt
Combine the flour, spices, baking soda, and salt in a bowl and whisk, and then set aside. Measure the molasses and add the egg and water to the measuring cup and mix, set aside. With a stand mixer or hand mixer, mix together the butter and sugar until fluffy, add the molasses mixture and combine. Then add the flour in three batches. Make sure it is fully combined.
